Sometimes I feel like I'm like, living in some fake world or something. A world where we just... live for one single thing, but then we know we're going to die right after and so there's basically no point in living for that one single thing. We ignore all the threats of...bad things happening and just live on. I don't know if that makes sense, but I feel like we live for one single thing - money, basically. Money, fame, power, actually, but I think that kinda counts as one thing.
We are born, we go to school so we can get a great job (so we can survive on our money when we grow up), we study and we are pressured by our parents and teachers to do better (so we can survive on our money when we grow up), we apply to the best universities we can apply to (so we can make more money), and then we work (so we can make more money). It's like the whole point of life is to survive, but if the point of life is to live, then what's the point of life, really? Does that make sense? It's like saying the point of having fun is to have fun - that's not really answering the question. You're just repeating it.
And then we die after we achieved whatever we achieved. Isn't it pointless? We live to live, and then we die, so in the end, you're living to die. I am a Christian and everything, of course. I believe that the point of life is to live your life for God, but I still wonder why the whole world lives to live. Ugh, it's hard to explain if you don't understand. I mean like, I believe in a heaven and everything, and I believe that after you achieve whatever you achieve, you go to heaven, which is a kazillion - not even, actually - times better than making a kazillion billion dollars while you're alive. But how about the people who don't believe in heaven? Do they live to live to die?
I feel like this is a retarded question. And wow! I just realized that this is a good question for atheists. Really, I've always wondered since they don't believe in a god in everything, what's the point of life for them? I guess at least if you're a Christian, you have something more to live for.
