welcome to my life, where you will see
everything about me and my surroundings.
if you can see this, it probably means
something wrong has happened.

world changers my summer (july 4th!)
Saturday, July 04, 2009 9:48 AM

Just got back from World Changers, which is basically an Christian organization for students interested in missions trip... AKA, I just came back from a missions trip in Clovis, which is located in Fresno, California.

It was from June 27th to July 4th, a whole week. Unfortunately almost everyone there was sick and I got a fever and strep throat, so I had to go home on Wednesday since my fever wasn't going down. It was a huugeee bummer for me because World Changers is an amazing experience to say the least. Lots of people get saved during just that one week. It's so amazing I have to talk all about it.
We basically drive about 3 hrs to Clovis, and settle down on Saturday. This year we're staying at a high school. Sunday, you meet your crew - a bunch of people from all over the nation. I had people from Vegas, a place near Temecula, and New Mexico. Then you go to a random church with your crew, a church that will provide you with food while you're on your work sites. On Monday, you eagerly wake up at around 5:30 am, have a great send off, and go to your work site at 7:20 or so and work for 8 hrs in jeans and in around 100 degree weather. Sounds torturous, which it defiently is, but it is such a amazing experience spiritually, and I guess you could say physically.
My favorite part is worship, which is after dinner at around 7? pm. we gather up in the worship center (some kind of auditorium) and sing and listen to the guy speak. oh man, it's amazing. then you sit with your youth group and talk. I just love retreats and camps and whatnot, where you stay at a place you're not familiar with and live with your friends, because we open up so easily. I always open up easier for God to tell me something during those times, and each time during worship I always feel the chills. you know what I mean? So I always try to talk during devotions.
words can't explain how amazing this experience is. Reader, please check out world changers (google it). It's a life changing experience, trust me. People in Clovis definitely notice us, too. Last year a group was on the local news, and this year my group was in the Fresno Be (which reminds me, the article comes out today! :) ) A police officer told us that after we leave, people still talk about us and can't wait for next year when we come back.
I just love world changers. Man. God bless them :)
& also, happy fourth of july!
i remember years ago when i used to go up to valley during fourth of july and they would have football games at night and shoot fireworks.
amazing.
God bless,
